Prepare, dear readers, for an onslaught of legal technology news. Next week brings Legalweek in New York, the international legal mega-conference that encompasses Legaltech, one of the leading events in legal technology and a major venue for company announcements of product roll-outs and enhancements.

First out of the gate today is e-discovery company CloudNine, which is announcing that it will next week release enhancements across its full suite of e-discovery applications: CloudNine Explore, LAW, Concordance, and Review.

The company will also be previewing enhancements in the works for its Collection Manager, the new data-collection product that the company released just two weeks ago.

“In response to customer and partner feedback, our development team has added substantial new functionality to improve the overall user experience for every CloudNine solution,” CEO Tony Caputo said in a statement provided by the company.

Following is a summary of new features and product enhancements slated for release during Legalweek.

CloudNine Explore 7.3

Version 7.3 of CloudNine Explore — its fourth enhancement release in 12 months — includes improved search and filter capabilities, the company said. (See image at top of page.) Explore 7.3 also introduces multi-agent indexing to more quickly prepare data for searching and tagging.

CloudNine LAW 7.3

Source management in LAW.

Also getting its fourth enhancement release in 12 months, LAW 7.3 will have improved source management for its Turbo Import engine, allowing users to quickly sort, filter, and delete imported data sources from a central import interface, the company said. The release also brings enhanced support for scanning, image replacement load files, and raw image imports. In addition, the company will preview updates to LAW’s user interface.

Business Intelligence Module

CloudNine said it will preview a forthcoming Business Intelligence module available for LAW and Explore. The module will provide data-driven insights into single and cross-case transactions, the company said.

Concordance Desktop 1.08

CloudNine will release Concordance Desktop 1.08 at Legalweek, with a new viewer to speed navigation within document collections, support color images, and enhance document markup support. New print and production wizards will provide a document preview function, and users will be able to choose to print redactions as transparent or opaque. Desktop will support both the original and new viewers to provide users with flexibility.

Collection Manager

As noted, Collection Manager just launched two weeks ago, but CloudNine will be previewing forthcoming enhancements. These include support for single-user collections from Office 365, the ability to tie extracted OneDrive attachments to source messages, and the ability to collect Outlook calendar data. Other planned enhancements include data catalogue and filtering capability that will allow organizations to inventory and organize data for selective processing and reporting, and repair corrupt container files.

CloudNine Review

Among the enhancements to Review is the ability to assign metadata fields to groups with visibility options and ordering across groups. Also, new rule-based tagging extends tags to document families, and the metadata pane includes more document navigation icons for greater efficiency.

If you are attending Legalweek, you can demonstrations of these new features at the company’s booth, which is Booth Number 3,000 in Hilton Americas Hall 2. The company is also scheduling one-to-one demos, which you can set up by visiting or by emailing
