Registration is open for The Future Is Now: Legal Services conference. Elevate your practice virtually this spring during the Commission’s signature future law event. The fifth annual conference will be held Tuesday, April 27 – Thursday, April 29, from 12 – 2 p.m. CDT on The Future Is Now website

As in years past, The Future Is Now will bring together lawyers, judges, legal academics, entrepreneurs, and other professionals from across the U.S. and internationally. Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Anne M. Burke will open the conference.

Over three days, the conference will explore the interplay between the changing legal profession and attorney professionalism in the areas of future law, attorney well-being, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Commission is thrilled to announce the conference’s 2021 featured speakers:

Brian Cuban, a Dallas-based attorney, addiction recovery advocate, and bestselling author of “The Addicted Lawyer”

Jordan Furlong, an Ottawa-based attorney, leading analyst of the global legal market, and forecaster of its future development

Ellie Krug, a Minnesota attorney, national inclusivity trainer, and author of “Getting to Ellen: A Memoir about Love, Honesty and Gender Change”

The full speaker lineup will be announced soon.

“We’ve designed an interactive virtual learning experience that will provide the inspiring leadership stories and practical practice tips you’ve come to expect from The Future Is Now,” said Jayne Reardon, Executive Director of the Commission on Professionalism. “Our forward-thinking speakers are leading the way on pressing issues like lawyer competency, implementing technology to boost the bottom line, successful DEI strategies, changing workplace structures to prioritize attorney well-being, and more. We hope you’ll join us in April.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with speakers and fellow participants during live chats and townhall sessions throughout the conference. A “Continue the Conversation” series will be held each day after the conference, providing attendees another opportunity to discuss the topics of the day with fellow participants.

Single-day registration is available for $25. Registration for the full three days is available for the reduced rate of $50. Attendees will be provided with information about accessing the conference platform closer to the event.

1.75 hours of CLE will be awarded for each day of The Future Is Now, including 1.75 hours of diversity and inclusion CLE and 1.75 hours of mental health and substance abuse CLE. Judicial education credits will also be sought.
