Alan Mills has been a part of Uptown People’s Law Center (UPLC) since 1979 when he began volunteering there. Alan first served as a staff attorney at UPLC and became Legal Director in 1992. Alan was then appointed UPLC’s Executive Director in 2014. Under his leadership, UPLC has developed the largest docket in the state of Illinois of civil rights cases filed on behalf of Illinois prisoners.
